Scribal Terror Is Thrilled, Pleased, Delighted, Gratified, Elated, and Frankly Tickled to Announce . . .
The wedding of Julie and Scott
She was in Central Illinois; he was in Phoenix. They were both alone. They met in the Scribal Terror comments section and are going to be married today at 6:30 pm in Center Point Indiana.
You will never meet two better, kinder, funnier, and more adorable people.
I'll be reading Shakespeare's Sonnet 116 at the ceremony:
Please consider this a virtual guestbook, and place your wedding wishes here. And if you want to send them a gift, buy some of Scott's Survival Spice instead. It's awesome!Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
That alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:Oh no! it is an ever-fixèd mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wand'ring bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom:If this be error and upon me proved
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

Congratulations! I am honored and grateful that you have invited me to your ... wedding... on the day of your wedding... And I hope your first child will be a masculine child. I pledge my ever-ending loyalty...

It'll be great when your Dad walks you down the aisle tomorrow. As long as he's not carrying a shotgun.
God bless you both.

Julie, remember that article about how a woman over 35 had a better chance of being killed by terrorists than getting married? Bwahahahahaha. Guess you beat the odds.....hmmmm.......you have done a background check on Scott, right?
Congratulations and good luck!

Congrats!
I feel almost like a pimp overlord, somehow -- though don't press me on the details of my thinking.
At any rate, this is marvelous news. And you know what they say about marriage: NOW COMES THE SEX!
Well, some people say that. The impolitic ruffians.

I love you, Jeff, you impolitic ruffian. And I'm wearing white today because I don't want to match the bride....

This is beautiful.
"Well then what's to be the reason for becoming man and wife?
Is it love that brings you here or love that brings you life?
For if loving is the answer, then who's the giving for?
Do you believe in something that you've never seen before?
Oh there is Love,
there is Love.
Oh the marriage of your spirits here has caused Him to remain
For whenever two or more of you are gathered in His name
There is Love,
there is Love."

I was surprised and pleased that something so nice can come out shared commentary on a blog...then I reminded myself of the tag line "an intimate gathering place". Indeed.
I wish you both well and a long and happy life together.

Thank you all so much. It was a great day, and certainly one no one will ever forget.
It's amazing to think that 'meeting' Gail over at PW some years ago now, along with the great cast of regulars I've gotten to know, respect and love, would lead to meeting Julie.
Word of the day: deluge.
