"Fragile growth of grace"

Nah ... you can't convert me. I'm a big fan of God and the exquisite beauty of life.

Courage!

JBelle

Yeah, that's the rub. The challenge for people of faith is to be fully present in each moment.

It's not a "challenge", JBelle. It's in "everyman's heart". Instinct tells you, every moment, what is right.

Use it or lose it.

The challenge I refer to is 'checking out' or ignoring, suppressing pain that comes with certain experiences of life--the growing a shell over your soul that Gail mentions. I should have added, "...and not depair." So I believe that the challenge for people of faith is to be fully present in the moment and not despair. Which speaks to our faith and our courage to face the reality each and every day brings. Because I do think grace is a fragile grow and is stymied and rotted by the most innocent of responses.

Exactly, JBelle. Like a child in its mother's lap is my soul within me. (Psalm 131)

Diana

I don't see the soul as a fragile thing. I see it with the strength to fly in the face of evil and beat it down. It's what love does.
