Victoria's secret

Victoria
The BBC reports:

A pair of bloomers that once belonged to Queen Victoria have been sold for £4,500 at an auction in Derby.

The knickers have a 50in (127cm) waist and date from the 1890s, which indicates the monarch had a large girth as she approached her old age.

Gah. Poor gal was nearly as wide around as she was tall!

Typepad ate my comment. I was just noting the old gal must've been about as wide as she was tall. Vickie's ghost must've taken umbrage...

Well okay then, phooey. :)

This article has a picture that gives an illustration of the proportions of the bloomers to... someone wearing them.
