Come on in and talk. Or drop off one of your random bursts of verbal energy -- poem, limerick, story, top ten list, clerihew, essay, alliterative poem, rant, Surrealist or or Dadaist poem, parody, cento, dirty joke, amusing syllepsis, haiku, dirty haiku . . . to share.

FIRST! Or, whatever.

PRAYER REQUEST
A lightning strike started a wildfire on Deer Mesa about 3 miles from my sister Ruthie's house (dead scrub-brush and beetle killed pines make wonderful tender.) Her neighbors (one mile closer to the flames) have fled under mandatory evacuation. My sister and brother-in-law have their vehicles loaded up ready to bug out if required. Four large planes and helicopters have been dropping fire retardant as close to a mile from their home, along with valiant efforts by volunteer firefighters from surrounding counties. The flames seem to be redirecting toward Redvale, but it's going to be a long night. Thanks for your prayers, everyone.

I hope that they got through the night okay, JWebb. That must be terrifying.

The fire seems to be somewhat contained at this point. Charred over 1,000 acres. Twenty homes evacuated with twenty more on standby for same. But it showed me what our country is about. Neighbor helping neighbor. VOLUNTEER fire departments from four counties leaving their day jobs to come out and protect homes 24-7 and aid and comfort citizens just because it's the right thing to do. God bless 'em all. And thanks for all your prayers.

Thank God. They remain in my prayers to be hidden in the palm of God's hand.
