Sounds like Ana was fiesta-ing nicely with the margaritas, and I went to my favorite Indian restaurant for Mom's day, then sat around and let other people do all the work. JWebb, Happy Mother's Day to your mom from me.
My father has invited me to landscape his front yard (he had everything pulled up when he repainted/newroofed the joint.) I'm excited, but a bit intimidated, because it is in very snooty neighborhood, and his house isn't ...easy. WIDE and flat. Plus the door is offset on the side, with a little porch (very small) with 4 or so steps up to it. I'm thinking Spirea ... maybe a Dogwood ... but I'm going to have to use a few bushes to break it up or something.
My son took landscaping courses at our community college and knows a LOT about horticulture. I'll see if he has any tips for the Detroit area. Dogwoods might be a little tricky getting established that far north. We're right on the border of dogwood country here in central Illinois and I know most of the ones that get planted here don't do well without a lot of care and advance planning.
Fabulous painting! (but, yike ... uterine contractions!)

Time for another Margarita in a nifty glass.

Happy Mothers Day to all the Angels.

I was out gardening all weekend (after a huge breakfast.) My mil gave me a bunch of hostas, and I needed to fuss over where to put them.

Sounds like fun. I just pulled a few weeds and bought some new gardening tools.
