Well, near homes they seem to do well. There are a ton of loverly Dogwoods on my street :) Nice close to the house ... protected, kiwm? Any suggestions are very welcome!

Protected area is probably the key.

Aaron (my kid) says Dogwoods are good for your area as long as they're well protected. We must have more trouble with them here because the area is so flat and the wind really beats the heck out of them.

Even if you put them close to the house? That is usually where I see them - or in protected stands of other trees.
