It has since expanded to include almost everyone who believes the war in Iraq is an unnecessary evil. The term wingnut, similarly, was originally applied to a person on the right of the political spectrum who held particularly outlandish and untenable views such as the conviction that the Trilateral Commission has put a mind control chip in one's butt or the Jews control everything. It has since expanded to include almost everyone who believes the war in Iraq is a necessary evil.
