is not to be expected in Kingston (UK), as Kevin Davis explains:
I had a discussion last night with a Senior Kingston Police officer. He tells me that the new policy (introduced today) that I blogged about last week will be implemented. He has clarified some of the details for me.
- If the burglar is still present they will still send a policeman.
- If the burglar is not present they will not send anyone but a forensics officer will arrive to take any prints etc.
- You may well then receive a visit from an investigating detective some days later and/or a Police and Community Support officer.

If you look at Clive Davis's site, he says he wasn't able to get a police response when someone drove a car through his house.
