Yeah, it should have been a Parachute Adams or a Hare's Ear, or at least a Panther Martin or Mepps. It was a stocked fish, because the only trout found in central Illinois start life in a hatchery. I've had better luck catching them with minnow plugs, particular original Rapalas or Shad Raps, than with traditional trout lures.
