The white hybrid tea rose I planted in this spot died off several years ago. Since then, these red roses have been coming up from the rootstock (the area below the graft) and blooming gloriously once every spring. The last two nights of thunderstorms have made some of the flowers sag a bit -- the whole picture would have been prettier when the bush wasn't soaked and battered.
It's barely even spring here. . .
